UnknownWe offer a good range of local ales, quality lagers and ciders and an extensive wine list. Our house ale is from the award winning Bays Brewery of Torbay and we regularly change our other 3 pumps for regional guest ales. George has meticulously selected the wines and visited many of the producers, resulting in an interesting and varied wine list.

We stock an excellent range of spirits (whiskeys in particular), but if you have any specific requirements, with a little notice we will do our best to source them for you.

logoRob Dawson who is a renowned seafood chef, was  Head Chef at The Maltsters Arms from December 2013, from July 2018 Rob leased the pub, and now runs it.

His accolades include holding an AA Rosette since 1998, winner of ‘Seafood Pub of the Year’ with The Good Pub Guide, runner up of ‘Seafood Restaurant of the Year’ and achieving ‘Top 10 Places to Eat Seafood in the UK’ by Which Magazine, to name but a few.

‘Keep it simple’ has always been his motto, but his love of food was summed up well when starred by Egon Ronay. He wrote:

‘This is wonderful cooking; accurate, assured, done with love and reverence for the ingredients.’

Since his appointment Rob has transformed the menu and has quickly attracted a new following. Whilst Rob and his staff serve beautiful fish dishes, they also serve many ‘Pub Classics’ and other meat and vegetarian dishes to please all customers.
